Sacred Sites International Foundation Seeks
Summer Volunteer Interns
Sacred Sites International, located in Berkeley, is a non-profit preservation advocacy organization, founded in 1990, that works to educate the public about the importance of protecting sacred places. The all-volunteer organization is seeking interns for this summer.
Our work involves the preservation of both natural and built sacred places and their associated traditional cultures. We support indigenous groups and preservation coalitions around the world working to protect endangered sacred places.
Website Content Development
What we are looking for: A student to write new content to our new website and post it on WordPress – the program used to create the website.
Requirements: Good writing, research and organizational skills along with an interest in global cultures. We are also looking for individuals with the ability to communicate clearly, work independently and complete assignments in a timely manner. Familiarity with WordPress a plus.
How to Apply: Please send a letter of interest, a resume and a complete writing sample. This can be a class paper or a personal essay.
We like to meet our prospective interns in person for an initial interview. Much of the work can be done independently with periodic check-ins. We provide individual attention and good letters of recommendation for a job done well.
