INTERNSHIPS WITH TIKKUN MAGAZINE
· Editorial interns assess manuscripts, proofread and edit submissions, and contribute blog posts to Tikkun Daily.
· Art interns work with Photoshop and InDesign, find art for publication, conduct image research, and help design the print magazine.
· Operations interns plan events, assist fundraising efforts, do data entry, and help manage subscriptions.
· Social Change Activist interns work with the Network of Spiritual Progressives (Tikkun’s advocacy arm) and directly with Rabbi Michael Lerner and NSP executive director Cat Zavis to promote projects like our proposed Global and Domestic Marshall Plan www.tikkun.org/gmp, our proposed ESRA--the Environmental and Social Responsibility Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which would ban money from political campaigns except that supplied equally to major parties and candidates by the state legislatures and/or Congress, and would require corporations with incomes above $50 million/yr to prove every five years a satsifactory history of environmental and social responsibility to a jury of ordinary citizens who would receive testimony from people all around the world whose lives have been impacted by that corporation's products or services, advertising, hiring poicies, and/or environmentally relevant behavior--www.tikkun.org/esra.
Social change oriented interns are also invited to work with us in popularizing a New Bottom Line (a new approach to rationality, productivity and efficiency that gives priority not to the old bottom line of money or power but rather to enhancing our capacities to be caring and empathic, loving and generous, socially and economically just, embracing environmentally sustainable behavior, and responding to other people and the Earth with deep caring, respect, and even awe and wonder as we cherish each other and our endangered planet.
