|Title/Employer:||the MR. MA’AM literary journal|
MR. MA’AM is a brand new queer literary magazine, centered at Emory University, and our editorial staff would like to invite college-affiliated students to submit to our upcoming debut issue, set to publish this spring. We would appreciate if this email was forwarded to all relevant parties.
MR. MA’AM began as a joint venture among Emory University students seeking to provide a space to appreciate and honor literary and artistic work, with particular interest in increasing the visibility of queerness through creative outlets. As writers, artists, and creators, MR. MA’AM aims to publish work that epitomizes the wit, struggles, victories, and emotions of the queer community. Accepted genres include short fiction, creative nonfiction, dramatic literature, poetry, and visual art. Submitting to MR. MA’AM is free.
We are seeking literary and artistic work that reflects and explores queer themes and experiences. While writers need not be LGBTQ+, submitted work should be intrinsically linked to queerness and sexuality. Beyond this, our guidelines are minimal. We only ask that the submitted pieces be daring, innovative, and relevant in contemporary society.
