Professional Statement

Mostly I work on British and Irish modernism, post-45 experimental prose, the Frankfurt School, and psychoanalysis. I'm also interested in the history of political aesthetics, from Kant up to British Cultural Studies. I completed a BA in English and an MA in Critical Theory, both at the University of Sussex, before coming to Berkeley in 2014. I co-organise the Townsend Center Psychoanalysis Working Group, and I'm a member of the Program in Critical Theory.
