Shakespeare, William: The Complete Works (edited by Bevington)
Description
A study of a dozen plays from the second half of Shakespeare's career, including Hamlet, Twelfth Night, Troilus and Cressida, Othello, Measure for Measure, King Lear, Macbeth, The Winter's Tale, and The Tempest. Emphasis will be on on the deepening perception of human character as expressed in ever freer poetic forms. We will also examine Shakespeare's Sonnets, published in 1609.
