A talk and presentation by Michael Parker, Emeritus Professor of English Literature at the University of Central Lancashire. Parker is wide-ranging scholar of modern and contemporary literature, who is completing a major critical monograph entitled Seamus Heaney: Legacies, Afterlives.

Parker's visit to campus will be a double event. First, he will give a talk entitled "Facing the Music: Public Imperatives in Seamus Heaney's Late Poetry." And then he will present Noli Timere: Reflections on the Life and Work of Seamus Heaney, a multi-media performance work on Heaney, including readings, commentaries, music, and video.
