SpecialtiesProfessional Statement Kirsten Tranter is the author of two internationally published novels, The Legacy (2010) and A Common Loss (2012). She also publishes short fiction, reviews and literary criticism. She completed a PhD in English at Rutgers University in 2008, with a focus on Renaissance poetry and problems of figuration. In 2015 she holds a New Work grant from the Australia Council for the Arts to write her third novel. Kirsten is also a recipient of an Emerging Writers Grant from the Literature Board of the Australia Council for the Arts, and co-founder of the Stella Prize for Australian women’s writing.
