Alex's research focuses on the Internet, Cosmopolitanism, Race, and novel form. He has written on topics such as Blaxploitation films, neo-slave narratives, Wikipedia and reading practices, and mimetic representations of nostalgia. Alongside his university endeavors, Alex supports Bay Area literacy education (and attempts to generally scale the concentrated idea of rhetoric into other spheres such as Fremont, CA) through a company he co-founded with Serena Le, Open Story College & SAT Prep.
