An ecocritic engaged with environmental consciousness as a 'way-of-being-in-the-environment' rooted in history, experience, and aesthetics; questions of environmental access, alienation, and kinship; and interrogations of hegemonic ideas of race and nature. Research interests include: Black Atlantic studies, oceanic studies, blue humanities, postcolonial approaches to the environmental humanities, Anthropocene and climate change.
