Current Research:

I am interested in the history of American literature and culture (popular culture, history, film) from the Civil War to the Great Depression, with special interest in the American realist novel. I am working on a project analyzing writings from the cattle trade after the Civil War (histories, novels, diaries, letters, memoirs, autobiographies, films).
